The Market Shifts: MOZA Racing Steps Up

For years, sim racers faced a rigid choice: compromise on Force Feedback (FFB) or invest heavily in complex, custom-built rigs. However, the market is undergoing a fundamental shift, thanks to manufacturers like MOZA Racing, who are bringing professional-grade Direct Drive performance to a manageable price point.

MOZA Racing has quickly established itself as a key player in the 9-16 Nm range with units like the R9 and R12. Their strength lies not only in motor performance but in the sophisticated control offered by their Pit House software. This level of technical configuration historically reserved for high-end systems is now standard, giving drivers precise control over their FFB characteristics, latency, and fidelity.

The Technical Advantage

Where older generations of DD often relied on raw torque, MOZA focuses on clean signal delivery. Their ecosystem, including their robust Quick Release system and highly modular peripherals, is designed for the serious sim racer who prioritizes technical configurability and a future-proof setup.

This focus on technical superiority makes MOZA an essential part of any modern sim racing discussion.

Ready to Upgrade?

If you are thinking about making the jump from a belt-driven wheel, the sheer performance and competitive pricing of the MOZA lineup make it the most compelling choice in the current market.

To understand how the latest MOZA bases stack up against legacy systems and competitors like Fanatec and Simucube, we have performed a major update to our foundational guide.

If you’re a sim racing enthusiast or a Formula 1 fan, the ClubSport Steering Wheel Formula Red Bull 2024 is undoubtedly one of the most exciting products released this year. Designed in collaboration with Red Bull Racing, this limited-edition wheel combines top-tier functionality with stunning aesthetics, making it a must-have for serious racers. Features That Enhance Performance

This steering wheel isn’t just about appearances—it’s packed with functionality designed for serious sim racers:

  • Magnetic Paddle Shifters: These provide a tactile, satisfying “click,” mimicking real-life F1 gear changes.
  • RevLEDs and RGB Displays: Integrated LED indicators keep you informed about engine revs and telemetry data.

How It Stands Out from the Competition

Compared to other high-end racing wheels, this model sets itself apart by blending luxury with practicality. While competitors like the MOZA GS V2P offer solid performance, they lack the premium feel and exclusivity of the Red Bull edition. With only 2,024 units available worldwide, owning one of these wheels is as much about passion for the sport as it is about performance.

Its limited availability makes the ClubSport Steering Wheel Formula Red Bull 2024 truly special. It’s only limited to 2024 units worldwide, it’s as much a collector’s item as it is a functional racing wheel. Whether you’re a dedicated sim racer or a fan of Red Bull Racing, this wheel is a perfect blend of utility and memorabilia.

One of the major investments that you’ll need to make if you’re looking to get into simracing as a hobby is purchasing a steering wheel. There are various types of steering wheels available, and picking the best one isn’t as easy as you might think! This article will give you all the information you need to know when it comes to purchasing the perfect direct drive steering wheel!

Why Direct Drive is Beneficial

One of the great things about direct drive steering wheels is that they provide a much more realistic driving experience. This is because they are directly connected to the game’s physics engine, which means that they can provide force feedback that is far more accurate than what you would get with a belt-driven wheel. Additionally, direct drive wheels tend to be much smoother and quieter than their belt-driven counterparts.

How To Get Your First Direct Drive Wheel

If you’re looking to get into simracing, you’re going to need a steering wheel. And if you want the best possible experience, you’re going to want a direct drive wheel. Here’s everything you need to know about getting your first direct drive wheel.

There are different brands that are making pretty good products, for simracing to professional use.

And there is some pretty good Chinese direct drive wheel called Simmagic that is a new entry and is amazingly good.

Then we have Fanatec with its new DD CSL, or the podium, and the Simcube another great product.

Things To Consider When Looking For A Wheel

When it comes to simracing, there are a few things you need to consider when looking for a steering wheel. First and foremost, you need to make sure that the wheel is compatible with your simulator. Second, you need to decide what kind of feedback you want from the wheel. Third, you need to think about how much money you’re willing to spend on a wheel. Fourth, you need to decide what kind of features you want from a wheel.

My Personal Experience With A DD Wheel

I have been simracing for a little over a year now. I started out with a Logitech G25 wheel and pedals, and they served me well for a while. But I always felt like I was missing something, that I could be going faster and driving better. Then I went for the beautiful Fanatec belt driven CSL 2.5, was so smooth, the best non-direct drive wheel I’ve ever had! But after that, I decided to upgrade to a direct drive wheel. And man, what a difference it made!

The news about the Fanatec CSL DD was out of the blue.

You know when we read about the extinction of dinosaurs on earth? It is said that an asteroid …

Fanatec has done it again. Last night around 8 pm local time, he released a video teaser where dots appeared that came together almost to form a cube, followed by a date: 21-04-2021.

Panic. What’s going to happen next?

Fanatec CSL DD mclaren gt3 wheels

On the internet communities in just a few minutes, comments, posts begin to pop up and someone begins to put together the pieces of a hypothetical puzzle and back to April 1st.

Remember the Fanatec social post about a direct drive 0.5? Small in size at a price of € 349.95?

Ah yes April Fool!

Well, late yesterday’s confirmation. A bomb from the blue, an asteroid that is about to change the games in the world of sim-racing, and therefore I ask myself: Is this new direct drive base Fanatec CSL DD about to decree the end of the belt and gear steering wheels? We know about the quality of Fanatec products even up to before the arrival of the podium base. The CSL and CSW bases have great feedback, but so what’s going to happen now?

This morning opening Facebook I saw the panic. On some of the various Facebook’s sim racing groups and marketplaces dozens of posts of people who were selling their own bases, evidently to save money to secure this new CSL DD base, which will have an affordable price and direct drive technology within everyone’s reach.

More In-Depth Of This New Fanatec CSL DD

“The efficiency of the CSL DD motor technology means dynamic force-feedback performance is contained in a small footprint. This is also the first industrial motor to feature a carbon fiber composite motor shaft, which increases responsiveness and acceleration significantly due to low rotational masses.
Up to 8 Nm of torque

Standard peak torque is 5 Nm, with the Boost Kit 180 (optional) unlocking the full 8 Nm. This high level of torque can be sustained without the need for active cooling, with the extruded and CNC-machined aluminum casing acting as the structural chassis as well as the heatsink.
Upgradable quick release

The CSL DD uses an automotive-grade, all-aluminium quick release. This component is user-exchangeable, ready for the transition to the all-new QR2 system (coming soon).
Automotive-grade quick release system

The all-aluminum construction and anodized surface ensure strength and durability, providing a robust connection to Fanatec Steering Wheels.
Ready for the future

Connected internally to the wheel base via USB-C, the quick release can be upgraded easily to the next-generation QR2 system (coming soon). Existing Fanatec wheels with an exchangeable Quick Release can also be upgraded to QR2.

Here we are, We have a new Fanatec Mclaren Gt3 V2 in pre-order. After a fleeting post, on their social profiles, “we’re not done yet”, announcing something imminent in a couple of days. The word Yet was actually orange. Now it is clear why.

Why didn’t I think about it before?

The first version sold out in a short time. And many were left with a dry mouth, hoping they could have one, and you? Owner, or are you ready to put in your cart ?!

Of all the pro teams in the world, McLaren is perhaps the one that speaks most strongly to racing enthusiasts with an engineering mindset. It is a brand for those obsessed with details and for many sim racers, tormenting with the minutiae is a way of life. To be honest, I’m not an exception.

On the other hand, just look at my nick.

It’s great in my opinion that so many of these McLaren sim racer fans now have a new way to get a little closer to reality. Mind you, this wheel isn’t entirely new, but it’s mostly improved. This is the $ 200 McLaren GT3 V2 Fanatec CSL Elite steering wheel.

Why V2? The previous version of the wheel has been quite criticized for the gear changes and sloppy feel, and this is the major overhaul here.

The feel is much more precise than, for example, Fanatec’s BMW GT2 Clubsport wheel, but it’s not as precise as Fanatec’s Podium Advanced Paddle Module. Given that those paddles cost $ 180 on their own – almost as much as the entire wheel – it shouldn’t surprise you.

But What Has Changed With The New Fanatec McLaren GT3 Wheel V2?

The wheel has a diameter of 300mm, so a bit larger than the Fanatec formula wheels and smaller than many of the company’s other GT wheels.

The new McLaren GT3 V2 wheel now features realistic, strictly magnetic shift paddles with a completely revised shift mechanism. The paddles now have a longer throw and can still be moved up and down with one hand. Fanatec has also revised the double-clutch paddles also improved.

But it doesn’t stop there. Now, the wheel features a white OLED display to access the tuning menu features and show game telemetry (if supported). There are new multi-position switches that feature advanced multi-position modes and infinite rotary encoder functionality for greater compatibility between racing simulators. Up to 54 inputs are directly accessible on this wheel.

The steering wheel features two 12-way rotary switches, a pair of two-way toggles, a seven-way toggle, two analogue sticks under the shifters, seven standard buttons with interchangeable caps, and a pair of buttons hidden inside of plastic bunkers.

These last buttons have the purpose of activating the speed limiter in the pits and engaging neutral. Fanatec wanted to go further this time, going so far as to model the resistance of each button to match that of the real car.

Xbox One® and Xbox Series X

Fanatec has also improved and simplified the quick release adapter which clips to the pitch without the need for tools. If required, the simplified quick release adapter can be replaced with the optional high-end ClubSport quick release adapter, unlocking the High Torque mode on the podium wheel bases.

Finally, the McLaren GT3 V2′s steering wheel is now officially licensed for Xbox. Connected to a compatible FANATEC base, including connected peripherals such as gear levers, pedals, or handbrake, the wheel will work on Xbox One® and Xbox Series X | S. Needless to say, the wheel also works on PC and PS4 or PS5 when combined with a PlayStation licensed wheel.

Sim-racing peripherals as a whole have always been a very hit and miss novelty for players. You can have absolutely revolutionary peripherals such as the Eye-Toy camera within the sixth generation of gaming, practically paving the way for motion-controlled platforms. Then equally, you get absolutely ridiculous and mindless peripherals like the Resident Evil chainsaw controller that makes playing any game ludicrously difficult and inaccessible.

What we are saying is that peripherals can be inconsistent. Though, one area where there has always been a demand for high-quality peripherals has been within the sim racing game and racing simulation community. These players and racing aficionados have always sought after these alternative control schemes to add to the realism provided through their gaming experience.

Originally, this was for more of a novel and arcade-like experience to their gameplay. However, as technology has advanced and graphics have improved within racing titles, these peripherals allow players to truly feel as though there are really driving these vehicles around their favorite globally renowned circuits.

With this in mind, we thought it would be great to take the time to think about just what makes these peripherals great, what production techniques are used to make sure they are of the finest quality and just how these amazing bits of tech suck us into the action and make transitioning from real-life driving to in-game driving a seamless task. So put on your best driving gloves and come with us for a spin.

Sim Racing Peripherals: Its All In The Detail

When it comes to the design of the wheels (Direct Drive or Belt or gears models), pedals and other aspects of the peripherals. It’s common practice for manufacturing companies to spare no expense to make these feel as authentic as possible. Many companies do this with features such as genuine leather wheels allow for a more classy design akin to luxury car interiors, customizable button bindings that look incredibly similar to notches and dials of high end racing vehicles. Or alternatively, genuine metal pedals that further add to the authentic feel of the setup.

The detail doesn’t stop at face value. These peripherals also have built-in hepatic feedback, which for those unaware, adds resistance when pushing pedals and turning the wheel depending on the scenario on screen. This takes G-force, over steer, under steer and gravity into account. Meaning that if you close your eyes you’ll be able to feel the physics of the in-game world in action.

Made With PC Players In Mind

If you’re a PC player, you’ll know that racing games have never had your best interests at heart when making their games. Plus, the keyboard and mouse don’t exactly lend themselves to the racing genre. In the past, racing peripherals would have been seen as a step down from playing with a controller but thanks to the advances in technology, the racing peripherals offer a gateway for PC players to play racing titles with a level of immersion and comfort that they would have never been able to achieve with a KBM set up.

Adds a new level of Challenge

When playing racing games and going round tracks that are completely new to you. It can be shocking how quickly you can adopt the perfect racing line, learn the course perfectly, and be setting records within an hour flat. In reality, even the most elite racers need to practice for hours on end just to become adept at one track. Yet with a basic knowledge of racing game mechanics, you can be a champion in no time. It just feels a little simplistic to us. Though, with gaming peripherals there a lot more considerations to account for.

With the resistance and the measured rotation of wheel you need to consider, the shifting of gears that you need to master through the clutch pedal and the braking that needs to be mastered through the pedals as well. This all culminates to offer a higher level of difficulty to each track. Giving the player an experience akin to a real-life racing driver. This might not be something everyone seeks out in their gaming experience but for those cruising through racing titles with ease, this can add an extra layer of enjoyment.

Fanatec McLaren GT3 And Podium Wheel Updates

When you are opening a Fanatec steering wheel box you can immediately read this: Hello realism goodbye toys. It’s like a statement from a company that doesn’t need an introduction in the sim racing world.

Fanatec CEO, Thomas Jackermeier posted an interesting article letting us know the current status of their upcoming products. In short, the shipping date of the CSL Elite Steering Wheel McLaren GT3 is delayed to late April, the highly anticipated Fanatec DD wheelbases production is slightly behind schedule, and the CSL Elite Racing Wheel support will soon be officially implemented in Polyphony Digital’s Gran Turismo Sport.

Fanatec CSL Elite Steering Wheel McLaren GT3

We had some last-minute electrostatic issues on this product and we had to make some small design changes. This means that the shipping date will be postponed to late April.
All customers who pre-ordered the steering wheel will get an e-mail and they can also expect a nice compensation for this delay. All affected customers will get a free ClubSport quick release adapter or a coupon code if they already purchased one. Of course, they can also cancel the pre-order at any time.

Podium Wheel Base

Talking about delays…
We are all waiting for this product to be released but we had to fight a lot of small issues. The pre-production is done and we are still making internal tests to verify the design and sort out some obvious issues.
Currently, we select the beta testers and will get in contact with them shortly. The beta tests will start in late February and it is still planned to hold a community event in our HQ where we will invite interested potential customers and direct drive specialists to help us fine-tune the wheelbase.
At the moment we are aiming to start selling the DD wheelbases in summer.
Some good news as well. We managed to crank up the torque on both versions. We also successfully eliminated all torque ripples so you can expect the same smoothness as on your ClubSport Wheelbases which is on par with the very best DDs out there or even better.
Full Implementation of the CSL Elite Racing Wheel in GTS (blue mode)

I have received an update from Polyphony and got the confirmation that the wheel is already implemented in the code and that they are fine-tuning it. Unfortunately, I did not get any confirmation when this change will be patched to the game.
But it looks that this should not stop you from going fast.

There is no doubt that Fanatec products are the best among the commercial ones. Everyone was convinced that sooner or later the famous German company would enter the market even for those looking for a professional steering wheel with Direct Drive technology. Today I can confirm with certainty that Fanatec’s Direct-Drive is under construction and is expected to be released by the end of the year.

Fanatec-banner-sim-steering-wheel-pedals-formula

The beautiful news comes through the iRacing forum (only seen by those who have an active subscription), where a Fanatec “insider” has decided to empty the bag. The steering wheel is still far to be completed so details and prices are still unknown. Knowing Fanatec, but above all the cost of making a professional steering wheel, the final price will only be high. Keeping in mind that today who wants to opt for such a steering wheel will have to shell out over 1000 euros as a minimum.

What about compatibility for this new Fanatec Direct Drive wheel?

It will, therefore, be a product designed for true enthusiasts and at the same time for those who can afford to spend such figures for their favorite hobby. The good news is that the current drivers of the ClubSport series will be compatible with the new base.

Fanatec has confirmed that it will be fully compatible with ALL of the Clubsport steering rims, but it will also support a new line of rims. Fanatec is planning on releasing a “Hardcore Line” of devices, including rims, shifters, pedals, and so on.

Fanatec Direct Drive VS Consoles?

This is the big news console compatibility!

Thomas from Fanatec said this new Direct Drive wheel will be compatible with PC of course. He also mentioned that he “sees no reason why it should not work on the Xbox One”. However, the “first-generation DD base will NOT work with the Playstation 4”.

This is a very good announcement, for all the hardcore console users as we’re likely going to see an Xbox One compatible Fanatec Direct Drive racing wheel!

Waiting to find out more about it, how much do you think will cost the new Fanatec steering wheel?

When talking about F1 Simulators, it’s impossible not to talk about Sim Steering Wheels. Most importantly, we’ll examine the difference between a direct drive wheel and a generic consumer steering wheel.

What is a direct drive wheel?

If you’re new to the Sim-Racing/Simulator world or simply haven’t heard, a direct drive wheel doesn’t have a belt or any other auxiliary mechanism to simulate FFB (Force Feedback) like mass-market steering wheels. Haptic feedback, commercially touted as 3D Touch, is a common feature of generic simulator wheels. From the cheapest to the most expensive models, it’s considered to be a premium feature for a realistic driving experience.

A direct drive wheel, on the other hand, uses an industrial servomotor that is attached directly to the steering wheel. It has no extraneous gears or belts like so many mass-market steering wheels. With the servomotor connected directly to the motor shaft, the driving sensation is as raw and authentic as being out on the track. These motors have high torque and speed, almost perfect linearity, and very low inertia.

The Evolution of Direct Drive Wheels: Entry Levels and Pro Performance (2026)

If, back in 2014, the Direct Drive world was dominated by niche, custom-built solutions (like OSW or Simsteering by Bodnar), the market has now democratized. Today, we have technologically advanced, plug-and-play options for every budget.

The key to choosing your DD is no longer just peak torque (Nm). You must focus on software quality, low latency, and FFB linearity.

Here is a breakdown of the key players in 2026 you need to consider for your professional-grade setup:

Price Tier Typical Torque (Nm) Key Brands to Watch Core Advantage
1. Entry-Level DD (Sub-€600) 5-9 Nm MOZA Racing (R5/R9), Fanatec (CSL DD) Accesso rapido alla tecnologia DD; unbeatable Nm-per-Euro value. The perfect step up from G29/T300.
2. Mid-Range Performance (€700-€1500) 12-16 Nm MOZA Racing (R12/R16), Fanatec (CS DD) Ideal power for advanced users. Exceptional FFB clarity and detailed road feel.
3. High-End / Pro-Grade (Over €1800) 20-30+ Nm Simucube 2, Asetek (Forte/Invicta) Extreme fidelity and near-zero latency. These are professional-grade, simulator components.

Recommended Brands for Your Setup:

  • MOZA Racing: One of the true powerhouses in the recent market. MOZA has successfully paired high-quality servo motors with robust, user-friendly management software. Units like the Moza R9/R12 offer crisp, high-fidelity FFB and integrate with a vast, growing ecosystem. Check out the MOZA R9 and R12 bundles here
  • Fanatec: Historically a DD pioneer. While offerings like the Podium DD2 remain technically competitive, their main strength lies in the vast, integrated ecosystem, which benefits existing Fanatec component owners. Browse the Fanatec integrated ecosystem here.
  • Simucube / Asetek: These brands represent the current pinnacle of technology. Although the price point is higher (in line with the old Bodnar units), they deliver the ultimate low-latency performance required by professional and competitive drivers.

The Premium Tier: Asetek and Simucube

While MOZA and Fanatec dominate the enthusiast space, professional sim racers and those who demand maximum fidelity often look to the premium tier. Brands like Asetek have quickly established themselves here, leveraging their expertise in thermal management and high-end engineering to deliver incredibly clean, low-latency FFB.

The Asetek Forte Wheelbase is the ideal entry point into this segment. It offers up to 18 Nm of torque, focusing less on raw power and more on unparalleled FFB clarity and responsiveness. If your goal is professional-grade consistency and fidelity, Asetek is your clear upgrade path.

➡️ Explore the Asetek Forte Wheelbase and Pedals here: Asetek Forte Wheelbase and Pedals

These direct drive steering wheels have a lot in common with the premium wheels I’ve mentioned above. The key difference is the Accuforce Pro V2 Steering System. The servomotor may be less robust than some of its competitors, but it has truly sophisticated management software giving you a great deal of control over your driving experience.

The Shift from DIY to Professional Direct Drive

Historically, achieving true Direct Drive fidelity required technical know-how. Projects like the **OpenSimWheel (OSW)** were community-led, open-source initiatives that allowed skilled users to source industrial motors and build their own high-torque bases. This DIY approach was groundbreaking for its time, proving that high-end performance was possible outside of commercial products like the vintage Bodnar units.

Today, the Sim Racing landscape has fundamentally changed. The complexity, lack of warranty, and potential for electromagnetic interference associated with DIY builds are no longer necessary hurdles. Companies that originated from or were inspired by that open-source spirit now offer fully warrantied, professional-grade systems.

The OSW concept has evolved into the **Simucube** lineup (from Granite Devices), which stands as the current benchmark for ultimate FFB clarity and minimal latency. Similarly, newer high-end players like **Asetek** (with their Forte and Invicta lines) offer tightly integrated, plug-and-play solutions that deliver performance exceeding the complexity of any old DIY project.

Unless you are an electronics engineer and value the challenge of construction over the time spent racing, the market now provides superior, guaranteed, and safer Direct Drive options at all price points—from the powerful **MOZA Racing bundles** to the professional **Simucube 2**. The era of mandatory DIY is over.

If you are not particularly skilled in the more technical aspects of constructing your racing equipment, it is possible to get more or less complete kits of preassembled components. As you’d expect, the price will naturally increase based on your choices and needs.

For example, an OSW with a smaller engine that generates 20nm of torque is available for €1000 worth of components. You’ll also need to add a steering wheel.

I assure you that a smaller engine with 20nm of torque is more than enough for anyone. Take into consideration that the CSW of Fanatec in its first version had 5nm of torque and the second version had 7.5nm while the G27 would have about 2.5Nm of torque.

You’ll also want to think about the engine size of your steering wheel. A direct drive wheel’s motor is bigger and weighs more than 10kg.

The nice thing is that it increases or decreases the force. A direct-drive motor generates no clipping in the course of your game. The effects are always transmitted without being completely covered by the excessive force generated.

Fanatec-banner-sim-steering-wheel-pedals-formula

How realistic is the feeling of a direct drive wheel?

The immediate sensations you will receive are those of immense strength and absolute accuracy, even with a less expensive and less refined engine.

The FF effects have never felt cleaner and the level of immersion is unparalleled. There’s a bit of a learning curve but after you get used to it, you truly step into another world.

Final Verdict: Is Direct Drive Worth the Investment?

The question today is no longer *if* you should upgrade to a Direct Drive wheel, but *when*. The market has shifted dramatically since this article was first published.

If you are currently running an older belt-driven wheel (Logitech G29, Thrustmaster T300) and are considering spending **€500 or more on any new belt-driven unit, we strongly advise against it.**

For a fraction more than a mid-range belt-driven setup, you can now enter the world of true Direct Drive fidelity. Entry-level units from manufacturers like **MOZA Racing** have completely redefined the price-to-performance ratio. You can now get FFB clarity and low latency that was previously exclusive to €2,000+ rigs.

The differences between a belt-driven wheel and a modern Direct Drive are not minimal; they are immense, even at the entry level. This is the single biggest upgrade you can make to your F1 simulator.

Before you make your final decision, focus on the brands that are leading the charge in innovation and customer service today.

Our Top Recommendation for DD Entry-Level:

Let me know your impressions about this fantastic piece of engineering.

For just a bit more, there is a kit for sale but the wait can be frustrating since there is a very long line.

At the next higher price bracket (€1500-3000), there are ready-to-use kits that are preassembled. You just have to decide which engine you’ll choose to go with it.

A direct drive steering wheel generates strong electromagnetic emissions. An OSW will generally cause glitches with the other devices attached to your PC.

To solve these problems, there are some precautions that should be taken. It’s nothing extravagant, but you could lose a lot of time trying to solve all the random problems that you might experience.

If you are keen on DIY, you can find all pieces on the internet and do it all yourself. You will save money and be doubly pleased with the end of the project.

As I’ve already said, based on how much work you want to do, you can spend from €1000 to €3000. It’s up to you. Of course, on the threshold of €3000, I would go with Bodnar (Used mainly by professional teams)

An OSW of €3000 will give you the sensations and performance of a Bodnar rig using the same engine, but Bodnar provides the guarantee of a product sold and produced in series. It’s already shielded against electromagnetic emissions. You will not have to concern yourself with strange flashing firmware or how the current settings have to be applied to the engine to make it work properly without burning it out as you might with a DIY setup. Bodnar is a plug & play system of the highest quality.

From the reviews of those who have tried all the steering wheels, it seems that Bodnar and OSW (depending on which engine you choose) are on par while the Accuforce is just a step below.

Be aware that those who speak of these differences, said they notice them only using the wheels one after the other in a direct comparison. The differences are minimal but still noticeable. Whatever your choice, you will have an awesome wheel in your hands.

Let me know your impressions about this fantastic piece of engineering.
